Rolling shuttersBy Shark Shutter· Published · Updated
Choosing a rolling shutter starts with what the space needs. Is the priority privacy and insulation, extra security, or letting in light and air? The answer helps you pick the right system before comparing models.
Start with the opening's size
Width and height decide which slats can be used and the right box size. Technical limits differ from one slat to another, so choosing the shutter's look or colour isn't enough.
Decide on security and ventilation
For ground floors and places that need extra security there are dedicated protection slats such as ZINC. If ventilation and light matter most, systems like NGS are available, while NGSS combines light and air with higher protection according to its specifications.
Choose the foam and motor by calculation
Standard foam and hard foam differ in density and rigidity, and the choice depends on the opening's dimensions and the system. Once the slat is chosen we calculate the shutter's weight to set the motor torque in newton-metres and the right control method — fitting a bigger motor is no substitute for the right calculation.
The site visit ties the choices to your space
During the visit we check the opening, finishes, box position, guide rails and wiring, then decide the right system and specifications. This makes the quotation based on clear details.
